Dr. Jonathan Hughes O.D.
Born and raised in Nampa, Dr. Hughes completed his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University, earning a B.S. in Biology. He then pursued his professional schooling at Pacific University College of Optometry, graduating in 2014 with his Doctor of Optometry Degree.
His extensive training in various state-of-the-art medical eye centers in Boise, Salt Lake City, and Phoenix equipped him with advanced skills in managing conditions such as diabetes, glaucoma, dry eyes, age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, and several other eye diseases. Apart from providing comprehensive primary eye care to families, Dr. Hughes also offers his services in both English and Spanish, being fluent in both. He stays updated on the latest advancements in medical eye care and contact lens options and is trained in surgery co-management, including LASIK co-management.
At ECA, Dr. Hughes cherishes the connections he has built with his team members and the collective progress they make. He believes that vision is our most precious sense, and nothing brings him more satisfaction than helping protect and enhance it for his patients.
When not tending to his patients, Dr. Hughes enjoys exploring local businesses. His favorites include Costa Vida, known for their Sweet Pork Salad, and Goodwood for their great BBQ. He also frequents Play it Again Sports and Cascade River Gear for his skiing and rafting gear needs, respectively.
Dr. Hughes and his wife are the proud parents of two daughters, Olivia and Emma. They were also expecting twins at the end of 2016. The family moved back to Idaho in 2014 and couldn’t be happier to be back “home”. They love spending time together playing sports, white-water rafting, and enjoying the great Idaho outdoors. They are also actively involved in their community and local church.
